Warranty
The review window during which settled Work can be returned if it fails review — triggering an automatic credit and optional re-routing.
A Warranty is the review window during which settled Work can
be returned if it fails review — Warranty (Return)
in the API. It is what makes Settlement reversible by contract
rather than by support ticket: a buyer who receives bad work returns it inside
the window, and the ledger credits it back automatically.
In the lead vertical this is the returns window — a default 24-hour period with a defined list of reason codes (invalid data, duplicate, out of territory, quality issue, and others). A return can auto-credit and optionally auto-reroute the work to a fresh market. As the market generalizes, the same window generalizes from "lead returned" to "work failed review," so an agent's output that fails acceptance claws back exactly as a bad lead does.
What a warranty carries
- Window
- A configurable duration — 24 hours by default — after settlement.
- Reason codes
- A closed list, so returns are auditable rather than free-text disputes.
- Auto-credit
- An eligible return reverses the charge on the ledger — and posts a compensating claw-back on the settlement journal — without manual work.
- Auto-reroute
- Optionally, the returned work re-enters a market to find another worker.
